Description:
“Untitled #2” is one of several paintings within my series, “Birds & Rocks” which is symbolic of the evolution of man. An abstraction of colorful rocks (representing human skin cells as seen under a microscope) transform from one color spectrum to another across the canvas. Skin color is a classic variable trait in humans, and it's believed to be adaptive. These adaptive traits have evolved over time with light and dark variants in pigmentation originating more than 300,000 years ago and some are believed to have appeared up to 1 million years ago, before the emergence of modern humans. The varying colors signify the light and dark variants in pigmentation and are an implication that they will continue to change as we continue to evolve.
Description of Reproduction:
Limited to 25 examples, a unique version of “Untitled #2” was created by the artist as a specialized, crystal clear, UV protected acrylic glass reproduction. The metallic, silver tones and high-definition acrylic glass present richer colors and extra vibrancy culminating a stunning contemporary art piece. Every individual piece carefully reproduced on a high-resolution archival metallic photo paper (using the highest quality archival inks) which creates a luminous and iridescent appearance. Each print is meticulously mounted onto the back of a hand-polished 1/4” piece of clear acrylic glass with diamond polished edges, finished with a 1/8” black sintra pvc board backing. A 1 inch deep, black wood frame with a cleat hanger is installed on the back for easy wall installation.
Each limited edition piece is personally inspected, hand-signed, and numbered by the artist.
